Job Opening: Transfer Station Attendant

Sandy River Plantation is seeking a dependable and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Transfer Station Attendant. This part-time role involves overseeing daily operations at the local transfer station and assisting residents with proper waste disposal in compliance with Maine state regulations.

Duties include:

• Opening and closing the transfer station during scheduled hours
• Monitoring and guiding residents on the proper disposal of household waste and recyclables
• Maintaining accurate clerical records as required by relevant agencies, ensuring compliance with state record-keeping regulations for transfer stations
• Ensuring the transfer station site is clean, organized, and safe
• Reporting maintenance needs or concerns to town officials
• Performing light maintenance and organization of disposal areas as needed

Qualifications:

• Dependable with the ability to work independently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform light physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Familiarity with proper waste and recycling procedures is a plus

Schedule & Compensation:

• Part-time, approximately 10 hours per week
• Paid bi-weekly, with hourly wage based on experience
